Question

Just been informed by my dealer that my front pads will need replacing within 4,000 miles. I would be interested in trying a different make but have no idea which one, so I need some advice.
I'm not interested in track day performance, just road.

I'm after pads that would:

1. Help with the brake fade problem
2. Not wear down in a ridiculous mileage
3. Not cost the earth
4. Not produce so much dust that I'm constantly cleaning the wheels!

Am I dreaming, or do these pads exist? ..... if so where??

Many thanks in advance.

I recently fitted black diamond grooved fron disks, I use standard pads and since fitting the disks all the black dust has gone, I put it down to the fast wearing standard disks.

best place to buy? mintex arent cheap and normally have a long delivery time for scoob stuff(past experience only) so although their not chear id try tweeks. As for ebc, Sejoc in essex, he is ebcs main dealer so you shouldnt find cheaper, personally i ordered my mintex through my mates motor factors direct from mintex.

I'm with the Mintex. 1144 is fine for road use and 1155 is a little harder. Also availalbe is 66 and 77 and F1,2,3,or 4.

Great pad and worth the money IMO. Lead times from Mintex are always long...........that's why we always keep them in stock

Paul.

Using Mintex 1144 with Black Diamon discs. They are a considerable improvement over the original stuff, but your wheels turn black/grey within 3 days! Not tried EBC but have been told they produce a lot less dust

Anybody else used Pagid blues? Upgraded pad recommended by dealer on standard discs...£118 for front, how do these compare to the mintex and any other ones? i.e. price/performance...
I have no problems with this pad, they always seem to stop me in time but haven't used others to compare against and I'm fairly sure I'll be needing new front and rear pads next service!!

Paul ,

At the rate you go through pads in the green machine you'd need to keep 10 sets in stock .
