Default speedo issue - 0 to 140 in 1 sec backwards!

Hi all,

I have a fault with the speedo at the moment and I am hoping it is a simple fix.
The mileage clocks over fine, the rev, temp and fuel needles work as they should but the speedo itself is acting strange.

It will sometimes work ok, but at the moment is has made its way all the way round the clock and sitting the wrong side of the pin. It reads backwards so when I accelerate it will hold at zero and then hit 140 mph and clock backwards as I go faster.

I don't think it is the sender in the gearbox as I am sure that the CEL would have come on and the mileage clock would stop, so any other suggestions?

Loose cable maybe??

HELP!!

Nope, not a loose needle. Have had the plastics off to check that and seems fine. Suspecting an electrical issue somewhere along the line.
