Default What would happen ?

Evening guys
Had my car (my00) uk turbo for about 3 months and although its quick I have always thought I should be feeling more of a pull.
its totally standard except for nur spec.
Basically I seen a thread the other day and some guy was on about the restricter pill that is on the vacuum hose coming off a tee piece by the actuator.
I checked mine and it appears that the hose has been changed at some point before my ownership and the restricter is not in the hose.
What are the affects of not having this in and is this the reason that it doesnt feel like it should
cheers guys.

It will not produce correct boost control i think on early models it will produce overboost and on late models produce not enough boost (i may be wrong)

myblackwrx is correct.. it will be producing about half a bar of boost rather than the standard about 0.9bar.

it is possible however that it was removed when the exhaust was fitted to stop overboost (unless you fitted the exhaust?).

do you have a boost gauge?

JGM no I have not got a boost gauge
The exhaust was fitted before I brought it
It looks like the hose may of been damaged and they replaced it not knowing the restrister was in there as the hose that is on is different its like a braided fuel hose.
It does show signs of overfuelling as it does "pop" a fair pit etc.
Also there is like a rocking sensation when your just driving accelerating slowly.
Could this be that my breathers are shi**y
Cheers for the help guys.
JGM I will be contacting you to map it this year want to get it running correct first then up the power slightly......

like you say probably replaced without realising then.

is the rocking you mention whilst the engine is warming up?

Often get that slightly on the 99/00 some people notice it other don't and is related to the lambda sensor and nothing to worry about..
or it is due to the restrictor missing which is making the boost ossolate slightly.

The restrictor subaru call an Orrifice and are only a couple of pounds.

Yeah they are about £3.. come in difference sizes.. IIRC should be 0.8mm .. The smaller you get the more boost it will make and visa-versa.

Its not the dealers fault; the Subaru EPC system is crap.. You have to have part numbers or you can dig your way down from a chassis number.
