Default Going To Snowy Switzerland - What to wear

All

As a well travelled lot i need some info. I am going to Switzerland on Tuesday for a week. Got 1 night in Geneva, 3 Nights in Zermatt, 3 Nights in Interlaken and 1 Night in Geneva on the way back.

In the snow in Zermatt i will be doing a bit of skiing so will get the ski wear for that. When just messing about is it best to keep this on?. Dont really want to go rolling around snow in jeans.
Presumably some proper snow wear is advisable.

Havent been for a while so looking foward to it.

Also is it best to hire it or buy it for a few days?.

Thanks
Dave

You'll end up pissed in bars at 4am wearing you ski gear so don't worry just keep it on..

Not recommended to do same in the cities though

Get some thermal base layers and wear what you want on top. I shall mostly be wearing my snowboarding gear and Burton boots

Did you not used to watch "Heidi " on telly as a kid ?.

Didn't see Goat Peter poncing round in oakleys, and a pair of yellow sallapettes.

Be british, and proud.

Henry Lloyd stripy jumpers, or Stone Island. With some kickers

Get yourself a good warm coat -- something by Aigle or La Fuma would be suitable as it's quite nippy around these parts especially in the evening. It's about 1-2 degrees here during the day although there is plenty of sun so bring your shades. The sales will be starting soon in Geneva so bring your credit card as Cartier, Vuitton etc. will welcome you with open arms

Why not wear a traditional brits costume when abroad.

Union jack shorts and a british bulldog vest and make sure you have about 15 pints followed by chasers and then stagger about and shout abuse at the locals.

They will love you for being a genuine, authentic brit abroad as they probably won`t see many of this type in switzerland.

That's the sort of thing I was talking about -- something to keep out the chill 'cos if that Bize wind strikes Geneva it gets REALLY cold and unpleasant -- but you get beautiful blue skies! I have an Aigle which nothing gets through...oh and a pair of Eider gloves and a balaclava (you can take the man out of Belfast...etc. ) to keep me covered
