thanks guys -

did the carcheck which showed it clear - it showed the reg as being exported which is ok as it was used in Ireland for the past 3 years.
It was registered in Ireland though and the V5 now has the Irish plate but the check didn't recognise this which meant i had to use the origional reg number?
The car was re-registered to the UK less than 2 weeks ago but has kept the Irish number

They should all be tied by the VIN number.

the carcheck showed the old reg and vin are ok

i guess dvla didn't update their records when the plate was changed to the Irish number otherwise the old number wouldn't show up?

As it was less than 2 weeks ago when it was re-registered in the UK it might take a few weeks for them to update their records so the car will have the Irish number?

Sorry to be a cheeky tw@t - well, not THAT sorry! But could you do a check for me? Or is Robby a mate of yours?

I have a mate who works in the trade, who would normally do a check for me, but he is on hols until Thursday.

Let me know and I will pm you the number.

Cheers.

Asif
