Default England and Wales boys' names

This should get you all foaming into your lagers.

Jack is top - but Mohammed is catching up fast.

Mohammeds catch up with Jack as favourite name | The Guardian | Guardian Unlimited

and for a bit of political balance

Mohammed now second most popular boys' name in Britain | the Daily Mail

I like the way the Mail attributes it to the rising immigrant population and the Guardian is silent.

I suspect, in part, that it's down to the 14 or so different spellings of Mohammed and that the Muslim's don't seem to have any other names at their disposal

With Mohammed soon to be the most common name for newborns, just think what this country is going to be like in 25years! Surely inevitable that the UK will become an Islamic state at some point in the future.

Around the globe, the name Muhammad is traditionally given to boys as an honorary first name followed by a middle name which they are commonly known by.
