Question BT payment handling charge.

So I'm paying BT £4.50 a quarter to take my money off me (telephone only)

I don't want to go direct debit because of the lack of control, plus the fact that I might pay from one of several accounts depending on funds.

I am a good payer, never late, and I pay by Internet banking so instant transfer, and no cheques to check, etc.

So I will write to them requesting that they stop this unfair penalty or I will move elsewhere.

Question is, are all suppliers the same? Is there anywhere I can get a good old-fashioned telephone line supplied for £10/month with 5p/hour calls and not pay by direct debit if I so choose?

Just do what I did and pay a set amount each month. That way you know how much they will take and dont get charged the £1.50. I gave up arguing tbh. They did refund the ones Id already paid in previous quarter.
