Hope this is the right section!!

I have a 2001 Bug eye with air con.

When i have it on cold or hot, and press the aircon button, the aircon pump starts up for around 5 seconds and then goes off, then goes backon and then off.

Weve cheacked the gass and before the air con comes on we have 40psi and when it comes on it drops to 20psi and cuts.


We tryed to by pass the LP switch but it still did it. are they any other switches apart from the one at the front next to the head light??

it's supposed to work that way. If it ran continuously it would freeze solid, by firing short bursts at a time the evaporator coil condenses out the moisture in the air and gets wet, but not cold enough to freeze.

It only does that in the winter for the reasons stated.
In the summer it will run for longer or continuously.
