i've bought a car with a slim line style timer with a controler behind the dash (was pre fitted) i dont know what make it is as writing is worn, the trouble is it dose not work on auto, the clock just sitts at 0.00, i had a look behind the dash and found a grey wire that was not conected, any one want to take a stab in the dark with this one? maybe hand break wire or would if affect the manual mode also

 

sounds like the handbrake earth wire

 

I just got a hks turbo timer to fit on my car, but not got round to fitting it yet. On this one a grey wire is for the handbrake.Hopes this helps.
