Question Help changing rear lights

Hi guys.

After many months searching I have got hold of some STI rear lights for my Wagon.

Trouble is I can't seem to get the old ones out (only actually tried the drivers side so far).

I've taken the boot to pieces to get at the 4 nuts. Are they the only things securing the clusters to the car? They won't budge!

Any suggestions??

Cheers

there is 5 nuts..

have a look at the new ones your putting in..

in the early wagons you need to take plastic off around boot to get at it

Taken all the plastic off.

I'm sure there are only 4 nuts, which matches with the lights I've got to put on.

Hmmmm ...

Question

They are also seated om a non-setting mastic, which sticks like sh*t to a blanket

You need to pull and push really hard to get them off, then you'll need some new sealant to bed the new lights in.

The correct stuff is as I said, non-setting, and can be had from caravan dealers under the brand name Carafax.

DON'T be tempted to use silicone, or you REALLY won't get 'em out again...................
