Default Hids not working help !

wired up my vision performance hids yesterday and cant get them to work at all, anyone got any tips ? the main power wire with the fuse i connected straight to the battery, one of the earths also straight to the battery and the other earthed by the drivers side headlight, the 3 pin connector i plugged into the passenger side headlight wiring. The actual wiring for the bulbs and ballests im pretty sure you cant get wrong, but cant get them to light at all, have i missed something stupid ?

Thanks for replys

Double check the earth's.

Bought a bi-xenon kit for a fiesta the other day and initially it didn't fire up, re-checked the earth was fully touching and it suddenly fired....
Everything else sounds like you connected it fine.

Question

Does it have a relay? If so, is the relay clicking at all?

One earth is straight on the battery the other has continuity to the neg terminal on the battery so im pretty sure there ok, it does have a relay i think, theres a sealed box so im not 100% but it would make sense that its a relay, il get the wife to listen at the weekend, any way to bypass it easily ? They dont need the engine running or anything stupid do they ? before you ask yes the ignition was on when i was testing

thanks for the help

Reconnect the original lights, do they still work? If not then you've most likely blown a fuse. That means the HID isn't getting a trigger to turn on.

So check the relay on the kit. It'll be a little box, around 30mm square, around 25mm high, with wires, (four of 'em), connected to it.

If you're lucky, it'll have numbers beside each termianl on the base.

First, check that when your HID kit is connected, the relay clicks when you put the lights on.

Next look at the connections underneath. 85 FROM headlight, 86 TO earth, 30 FROM battery, 87 TO HID ballasts.

Polarity? Heard of a few kits that didn't seem to work. Then they swapped the wires round and they were fine.

Is it a H4 kit?????????????

If so the relay is only there to switch between high and low beam so the ballast should still fire even if the relay is dead. I would check that you have the power cable that goes into the ballast the right way round if the ballast are the same as the ones i had on my old H4 kit it is very easy to put the plug in the wrong way round and it fits
