I fitted my own radio to my 95WRX but couldnt for the life of me find the switched 12v from the ignition - so i have to switch the thing off maually which is a pain in the ****.
I checked every available bare wire in the radio area wiv a meter but no luck. Wheres the best place to start looking? (first person to say ignition gets a slap).

Don't know the answer to your Q, but I also changed the jap stereo
from our 94WRX for our Sony. Where in the NW are you, as you are more than welcome to have a gander at the wiring in ours! We live near manchester/east lancs.
