I just had a quote for removing spraying and refiting my side skirts as i want them body coloured. Also i want the same done to a sti scoop i picked up on the cheap on fleabay. I was quoted 586 bucks for this? I no nothing of the cost of such things but is this to expensive should i shop around for more quotes?
I forgot to mention that their also doin my driver side door as sum jester egged me car and then i power washed it and managed to remove the laquer (yes i am a total idiot ) so this also has to be done! Should tidy the car up nicely tho with the side skirts painted!? You guys got any pics of this done?
im having my sideskirts done this weekend and although ive not had a final price (coz ive known this chap for a while as i get all my work done from him) but i certainly hope it aint that much
I did mine myself with a tin of plastic primer top coat and laquer looks the biz easy to do just make sure you masking tape the bodywork LOL
EXACTLY the same as what i did LOL - the paint i used was actually a Rover Silver as the Motorsave Color chart didnt have any Subaru's - the paint match is spot on!
total cost £18 for 4 cans of spray - 3 hours to do, the spraying was quick, just the masking was the time consumer. job done.
i'm currently having both sides of car, skirts, bonnet, bumpers, door handles, and sti wagon boot spoilers painted... including fitting a wing bumper and spoilers its going to be between 500-600!!

How are you being ripped off exactly? It seems that you asked for a quote, you got a quote. It may not be a competitive quote.
At that price, I think that quote would end up at the bottom of the pile as I phoned around.
It does depend on the amount of work required. If any of the parts have been previously painted, they may have to strip the previous finish off before starting from scratch. Especially if plastic parts have previously been badly finished and are chipping/peeling or if there's a degree of muck, wear and tear that needs patching.
