Only thing you have to be careful of with tinting is your reflectors. Theyre a legal requirement and if you tint over them and they dont work, you're an MOT failure and will may get busted big-time.

Alternatively can't you buy two red reflectors and stick them to the bumper/rear of the car for the MOT and once passed you can do what you want with the reflectors. i.e. take them off.

Saves you leaving red patches for them in the tinted light unit.

A friend did this with some "lexus" lights he had. They came with reflectors as they were not encourporated in to the design of the light unit.

^^ of course this will need to be confirmed with someone who knows more on the MOT requirment. ^^

Imprezive, it's not just for MOT though, any police can do you too. We've had this on other forums. IF you want to tint your lights, your safest bet in any situation is to get professionally done lights that have been made as such. That or get ridiculous stick-on ones and drive around with them, but tbh, they do you no favours
