Question whats it worth?????

ive a 555 in blue its a 1997 car sti red top engine 117 of 555 in very good condition apart from a knocking bottom end is it worth anything guys?

A knocking bottom end cost me 3 grand to fix.

1500 here if you want it ! can be very dear to fix and tbh i would 2.5L it !!

hi just buy second hand bottom end from grade a subaru all tested all bottom ends low milers 2.0 and cdb and 2.5 engines £527 inc vat much better than paying 2 and half grand to three

try API. i've had good advice from david he seems a dead on guy. all the threads i've read about them have been positive. the car will be attractive to someone. its a car thats worth preserving. all the best good luck.

thanks guys ive been quoted some real eye opening things,would like to repair it as cheap as pos ut dont want just a quick fix can anyone shed some light one what engine parts i would need and from whom i know i seem a little lazy but im new to all this and dont want to end up with another naff engine cheers

Default engine for a grand.

while looking on ebay today i spotted an engine. red top sti unit from a 96 i think. 76k on it its worth a look. its advertised as "subaru wrx sti red top engine". all the best again.

hi chris yeah i saw that engine,now what puts me off is that mine has only done 64 thou and its not well,now i would rather buy from a reputable company and pay a little extra am i wrong ?

Mez68 i understand your worries. try grade a subaru, or scoobybits. or as i've mentioned API. good luck keep us informed.
