Default Dump Valve questions...

I am just about to install a newage WRX TMIC onto my MY99 Uk Turbo; but have a few questions.

Which is the best dump valve to use?? I was gunna use my Baileys DV10 from the old setup, but this apparently doesn't fit onto the newage TMIC. So I could go for a DV12, would that be ok?? I wouldn't mind going to a recirc; but have heard its a nightmare, as the newage recirc's are not the same as the classic ones, and make it difficult getting a pipe to get the air back to the inlet. What are my other oprions?

I was also thinking about possibly blanking it off!! What is the general consensus to this?? I have a brand new TD05 16g on the car, and it will be ran at approx 1.45 bar. Would it be alright??

Cheers

Simple solution is bolt on piston BOV. Forge Motorsport or similar.
I'd prefer a recirc. as a matter of choice, but then I'd be willing to make the effort to fit it, as I don't like DV noises!
I'd say at 1.45 bar, a DV is a necessary evil.

Well i had a forge dv fitted to the original tmic on my my00 wagon and went to upgrade to a 2004 wrx tmic which is bigger, faced the same problem as the dv wouldnt fit the newage intercooler as the spacing of the mounting holes is different, also couldnt fit the standard newage recirc that came with it as the classic air pipe diameter is also different, newage being much larger,so contacted forge who sent me a replacement dv to fit the new intercooler in exchange for my classic version foc..... which i though was pretty damm good of them, you can also weld up the dv hole and run without a dumpvalve at all on a 16g,many have done so without problems even at the boost level you state.

The new age recirc DV can be fitted if you use a small length of Newage dumpvalve hose, the original hose from the classic and a hose joiner.

Did it on mine yesterday

It really isn't that hard,

I used the dump valve pipe from my Samco's (the one with two 90 degree bends in it) this was attached to a piece of hose from a newage using a hose joiner. I got the hose from a breakers and measured up how much I needed before cutting the excess off (there was quite a bit).

Ths has worked perfectly it even allows you to pull the hose through the gap to put the dump valve on after the intercooler is in place.

You will need to modify the distributor block height.

Good luck
