Question impreza as track car?

As our Impreza doesn't get much use nowadays, I've been toying with the idea of making the wrx a dedicated track car... I know it's not ideal from a weight point of view, handling etc etc, but at least it would be cheapish as it's what we've got sitting in the back yard The car itself is a lowly newage WRX running about 350bhp (still on standard internals) with upgraded brakes (godspeed 335mm).

I'm presuming that if it was a dedicated track car, I'd only need theft insurance whilst it was sitting at home, or do I in fact need 3rd party insurance to go on the track?

Also, with regards to trailering, what kind of car would I need to legally trailer a new-age (stripped interior etc, of course)? Indeed, is it even possible on a normal driving license?

Anyone got any opinions (other than "get a different car" as that's not economically possible at the moment)?

Default

You can tow without any problems, the problems arise when you exceed the allowed trailer/weight combination of your cars towing ability (ie an unbraked trailer has a far lower tow weight that a braked trailer)
In most cases you would need a car/van/4x4 capable of towing 1600kg braked (400 for the trailer and 1200 for a stripped car).
