Default converting a wrx to an sti

hi hope you can help me lads realy stook.ive just bought a version 4 jap wrx.everting on it is sti,like lights suspension dash the lot.my problem is how can i tell what engine is init at the moment as im not sure because i thought the wrx's had coilpacks but this engine has 1 coilpack on the inlet like the sti,but it hasnt got the red manifold has steel header tank ,could it b a uk engine .if its a wrx engine which is currently blown at the min.im hopin to change the engine for a rebuilt 1,what would i need to change to convert it to run a version 4 sti engine ,ie do i have to change the loom or will an sti ecu just plug in and play.

The STI manifold is red, although someone could have painted it. the only way to do it is to strip the engine down and see what is inside it.
