Default How to check a turbo for damage?

Is there any way of checking a turbo for damage without taking it apart?? I know you can feel the shaft for play; but is there anything else you can do??

Cheers

Theres not that much that can go wrong with a turbo like you say check shaft for play (up,down & in,out) and that the turbines are in good condition ie they are all there and not bent. The other check would be the seals on the turbo and this is checked be running the car and check for smoke. The caseing for the turbo should be ok but worth checking for cracks.

Hope that helps.
