blow off valve

Default blow off valve

i have recently fitted a blow off valve but i think i might of fitted it wrong i removed the old recirculating one and blocked off the hole there and put the blow off valve into the air induction pipe is that right or should i have fitted it in the hole where the old recirculating one went all help would be greatfull cheers all
