Default hard selecting gears???

Just wondered if everone elses gearbox on a blob eye wrx turbo feels as if they have to force it into gears ? Not really hard but its not a smooth selection between changing. I would say 2nd gear was the worst.

Also the clutch is very heavy when its cold or hot, is this anything to do with it?.

Any ideas? or is this about normal?

Sounds like u need a new gear box or rebulid time?!

Same happened with mine from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd and i was told i need a rebild!
When they told me the price i nearly passed out!!! So looked high and low for a gear box and in the end did a 400 mile round trip to get a good one at a good price

Was well happy untill the car went missing 2 days after getting the box fitted!

I have a 2005 wrx, not sure if this is blob eye or whatever
I had exactly the same problem, (No warranty as i had the car modified when it was new.)
it felt like i had to force the gearlever into the right place (2nd gear). It was reccomended that i needed a new gearbox so i thought i would wait until it got worse .
this went away after a couple of weeks of forcing it in

now third gear has gone bang/rattle rebuild time :-(

car is about 320bhp
