Cool

winter is pretty well here and the leathers are hanging up!
I really miss my bike at this time of year.
luckily the Scooby comes in to its own about now so it compensates.
how many others of you are bikers and what do you ride(please don't make me too jealous)

how about a motorcycle forum????????

Kwacker ZX6R

Just tucked it up in my shed for the winter, after one last blast today , 1st decent Sunday for yonks.

Pete, now expect abuse about fairweather bikers!

Harj, if you're new to bikes get the CBR, otherwise ignore me. Still remember the blast round Abingdon in your fire breathing Focus diesel

'er in doors has a CBR600 MY00 which needs regular riding from me to check all is working properly. At 700 miles, put two screws through the back tyre, £110, ouch!!
Has a massive hole in the mid range at about 5,000rpm - not impresed. My last bike was a VFR750.

Steve,

Hole in the power at around 5k rpm is v common for bikes, I believe they are deliberately tuned that way to get them through noise tests. You can change jets/cans etc. to get over it.

99 GSXR750WX which I use to race. Shortly be getting something for the road so the slapper and I can go out together. I have to say having been a bike nut for a number of years and never having been in to cars. I was looking at getting a jeep cherokee before my mate persuaded me into test driving the scoob, bloody good job he did, best fun I ever had with 4 wheels.

'99 Thunderace (Blue/Black).

I'm a semi fair-weather biker as I still go out in the rain when I have already arranged to go somewhere - no point going out for a blast in the wet though!!

Aprilia RS250 with Arrow pipes. Proper bike, there's nothing better than the 2 stroke rush.

Several bikes ... the maddest is a 1992 Mk I Blade with a stage 1 , full Termi system + DJ/rolling road setup, Maxton shock, Maxton modded forks, Harris clipons and rearsets, NSR250 seat, Castrol 2000 paintjob.

122 rwhp ..... and no steering damper. It may not be the world's best handling bike, but it defines the word excitement.

I've done the whole 'ride all winter' routine, but don't bother now. When it's wet, cold, and slippery, a car is (by far) a better place to be.

Nick

PS Harj, an R6 as a first bike? Possibly not the best choice as it's a totally committed road racer. I've been riding sports bikes for a long time but the R6 is a bit too extreme for me.
