Jap style back box V. original style Scooby design back box
Can anyone give me an opinion on these Hayward & Scott backboxes?
I've the chance to exchange my original style scooby design backbox for an angled jap style backbox.
Is there a difference in loudness (i'm hoping yes!) and is it lot?
thanks

yes and yes lol
i did the same a while back, but got a great deal, swapped a hayward and scott OE style backbox for a jap style angled one, sounds alot more angry and 'burbly' at idle and pops a bit on over run, but not too loud, not like nur spec loud at any rate.
so id say do it

damn! I'm too late now! Missed the opportunity. After missing out I kinda used my brain for just a split second and called Hayward & Scott directly. They claim the original style is louder at higher revs cause the larger box creates a vortex which in turn gives a louder output. Strange that actual experiences seem to differ!
