Default Where to get parts for my power upgrade??

Hi guys,

After doing some damage to the bottom end of my engine on my MY02WRX nearly 2 mponths ago , its finally going in for repair. But whilst its being stripped down i want to replace some of the parts for uprated versions and achieve 300+BHP . Now unfortunatly im doing this to a rather tight budget therefore need to save £'s whereever possible .

Can anyone advise some company names where i may be able to source some of the parts listed below:

VF34 or TD05 16g turbo (can be second hand if garuntee available)
550cc injectors
Uprated fuel pump
Uprated clutch (Exedy or black diamond?)
Headers
De cat downpipe
Lightened flywheel (6-7Kg?)
Front mount intercooler
Possibly adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

Not sure how much of these i will do, depends on prices but will be doing whats recommended to me first and adding on as much as possible as i go along if you know what i mean.

Any advice/contact names/numbers/websites will be much appreciated.

Thanks guys

Also, just looked at some other threads, what cc are STi pink injectors and what power can they handle up to? Would i be able to get away with a second hand set of these as long as they are garunteed???

On the cheap you want a turbo off ebay or from the US. You'll struggle to get a guarantee on a second hand turbo unless it's been rebuilt properly. 550's again, ebay. Walbro 255lph is pretty much standard on any Scoob that's had the pump replaced - ebay yet again. Spend a bit of money on the clutch and lightweight flywheel - get an Exedy and API's own lightened flywheel from API. Either leave the headers or get Harvey's ported standard headers and up-pipe. Any open neck downpipe will do, but why bother with a decat these days - it's really backward. Just get a sports cat one. It doesn't limit your power at that level. FMIC - Autobahn 88, either on an SN group buy or ebay again. Regulator, get a SARD off ebay or import an Aeromotive from the US.

If you're shopping for a load of parts Nengun Performance - Apexi, Blitz, HKS, Nismo, Greddy and other JDM Parts direct from Japan does good prices but their shipping isn#t any cheaper for multiple items. Worth picking just one or two things that you can get a good price on with Nengun.

Before anyone starts recommending this and that UK supplier, yes I know where they can be had for more money in the UK with at least some comeback if they go wrong, but the thread asked for how to do this all on a budget.

There are Group Buy's going on at the moment for these that will give you good savings.

personally I wouldnt bother with a fmic for the power levels you are aiming for, if you do go for one, then budget for an induction kit as well

Ive noticed a lot of peple comment on having an induction kit when fitting a front mount but when i first got my Scoob everyone told me to steer clear of induction kits and go for the panel filter, hence why i got a K&N panel fitted at the mo? Why is this?

Why should i not bother with the FMIC at this level either? just asking as im trying to learn as much as possible whilst doing this, and will help when it comes to upgrade again at a later date??

Thanks for the advice so far guys, i will trawl through ebay at lunch and see what i can find. I have seen a company called 2fast2cool on ebay, can anyone comment on these guys and thei products? They sell the FMIC's, Headers, Downpipes and FPR's. Im wondering if i bought the lot from them i may get a good deal and cut down the postage cost??

You will need an induction kit because the FMIC pipework wont go in with the standard airbox in place. There are certain kits to avoid (the oiled type) as these can cause maf problems.

I only meant you wouldnt need an fmic with your power levels that you have in mind to save yourself some money. I think AndyF posted something the other week about the TMIC saying its suitable for high power (cant remember which version it was though).

FWIW I have a fmic

Wasnt having a go mate, dont worry, u know what this sites like sometimes, You get conflicting infomation. Any ideas what the standard wrx tmic is good for BHP wise? Maybe it might be a cheeper option to upgrade to an sti or afetrmarket larger tmic. If i did this, would it be a good idea to change the standard wrx vent for the larger sti one also then? i mite do this anyway as the sti 1 looks much better and more aggressive.

Stalked - whos Scott and where does he work? Thanks
