I just bought a quick/short shift gearlever for my '97 GT-B,

but now it has arrived I think I bought the wrong one.
I bought this one:

but now I've had a look, mine looks more like this:

but I've now also seen these for sale, advertised for Impreza's, forester's and Legacy's:

What have I bought, and what do I need ?

I know I need help !

 

Anyway,
six hours and lots of swearing and blood later . . .
this one does fit !



Certainly not the 10 minute job I read about on a few websites !
There is a circlip under the car which needs removing.
I'll post a "How to do it" thread when I stop bleeding !

I have now discovered I have a very worn gear linkage joint.
next week perhaps . . . .
