Default rear inner cv joint r160 diff

hi, i am in the process of modifying my spitfire and am wondering if the inner rear cv joint just bangs off of the driveshaft or whether it is not servicable. its from an r160 diff on an imprezza i think but may be wrong. i need to make some custom shafts and it would be loads easier if it did come off but dont want to smack it just in case its not meant to, thanks.

The shaft is held into the inner CV boss by a thin wire 'C' clip (not a circlip).

Easy if messy to remove.

Remove bellows tie band off CY and shaft to free the bellows to be slid down the shaft.
This exposes the greasy *****, remove them after picking out the near invisible large 'C' ring running just under the rim of the CV 'bell'.

The shaft is pulled free and you will find the small retaining ring. Prise that off and the shaft falls out of the boss.

Billion of years ago i had an uprated Spitfire and that kept on twisting the sub half shafts in the stock diff, so this is a good upgrade!

Good luck.
