Default Replacement Crank/Belt Puley

My WRX classic wagon started making a noise that sounded like big-end knock . I traced it to the main pulley on the front of the crank (you know, the one that drives the alternator belt etc.).
The bolt had come loose, causing wear on the pulley where it sits on the woodruff key.
I need to replace the pulley, I see on fleabay that there are lightweight pulleys available. Some sellers make claims of big HP increase.

Anyone any views on them ? (e.g. quality, HP increase etc.)

Well I am still trying to squeeze that little bit more out of my MY03 Stealth Wagon & a full set of these should go some way towards giving the engine less work to do when spinning up the rev range.

The Stock size kit consists of :-

Crank pulley weighing 550 grams. (OE 2175 grams)

Powersteering pulley weighing 200 grams. (OE 380 grams)

Alternator pulley weighing 50 grams. (OE 180 grams)

Power gain achieved ???

This graph is for just a crank pulley & does not include the lightweight powersteering & alternator pulleys. Also this pulley weighs 1400grams !!!! not 550 grams like my one.

An increase of 10 bhp and 7 lbft torque. So maybe 15 bhp with the full set?

Have a read about them here & get in touch with Chris. Top bloke & top quality pulleys.

Big-G, Just make sure that the slot in the snout of the crankshaft which carries the Woodruff Key is not worn at all, otherwise you will get the same problem again.
