I have all the technical knowledge of Homer Simpson, could someone help me out.

My car seems to idle at about 1750revs when I start from cold, and the exhause fumes are a very powerful petrol smell.

Seems to happen all the time, once it is warmed, it starts and no longer idles, but the strong smell is there. Seems to be drinking a lot also?. Can anyone offer any advice on what to do.

Also, I have a full ss exhause if that makes any difference.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rob

That idling from cold is about right, mine is the same (1500-1600rpm when cold)...

The strong smell will be cos you don't have any CATS! so doubt its anything to worry about... appart from the occasional flame out!
