Will this work or not?
I have a Decat system
it burbles, pops, farts, bangs etc....which is nice
Now I want to keep the performance, but quieten the old girl down a bit. One of my neighbours is dying of Cancer and I always feel guilty as hell when I start up at 06:45 in the morning
I must be waking her up.
I love the gains afforded by the downpipe, so that has gotta stay, the JPI backbox ROCKS so thats gotta stay to, so I was thinking, would putting the OE centre back in quieten her down some what?
If i did do that, do I risk damaging the cat when i do give it some welly?
Any thoughts?

I can't see it causing a problem -- the cat is the major restriction in the system, so slotting the middle box back on shouldn't really affect flow from the cat into the rest of the system. It will make it quieter though ..... but your conscience does you credit, guv'nor.
I have a replacement DP and BB, just recently had a magnex resonated centre fitted. Original centre cat looked fine. Have noticed more low down torque with the maggy. The maggy is not as loud as straight through centre. Maggy is louder than standard centre at tick over and under light acceleration. May be possible solution. BUt the only way to be alot quieter would be a standard BB or loose the DP.
The choice as they say is yours.

you could always park round the corner and walk home. Or buy another car for £500 or so for commuting!
Or you could put a completely standard exhaust on.
Do you live on a hill? try rolling down in and firing up when far from her house.
Or you could fit the milkfloat conversion which drives very silently.
