Bought a Apexi FC and Commander for my 98 Type R, but do i just plus this in and off i go, or do i need to map before i can even start the car??

Apexi Unit arrives tommorow but Jolly Green Gian cant map untill Wednesday, is it safe to drive/start when fitted?

 

It should be ok to start the car and drive but do not drive the car hard!!!
