Thumbs up A BIG thanks to scoobyclinic

just a quick note to say THANK YOU adam and the boys down there

top quality service and even better laughs were had by all of our party of four
today .... we had 3 cars mapped and tweeked at the scoobyclinic

we recived top advice and I even got a free chinese take-away

also we had trouble arriving this morn after a faulty part was fitted to one of our party and the garage who fitted this item (not the clinic) were TOO BUSY to help us out, A quick call to adam and a low-loader was on its way

I must point out that I have spent no money today but the boys down there tret me like i had spent millions

top lads cheers

( better words Andy Forrest)

Has anyone got a contact number for this guy? How does his prices compare to scoobyclinic? Close on a £1000 at the clinic with a new fuel pump fitted and the VAT added.

Must say a big thanks to Scoobyclinic too (Adam and the team). They sorted out my my95 classic with GT spec headers, fuel pump, injectors and a scooby ecu remap, the car absolutely flies and the map is just perfect spools up much earlier and boosts strong all the way to the redline.
Cheers

Thedevilandhiscar, Thats harsh. Thats crool. There are lots of members on here inculding myself that are more than happy with what the clinic have done to our presious Subarus. They are a great bunch of lads and always know what they are talking about. I am so please with them, that I have to drive 2 and a half hours to get them. I know my scooby is in safe hands and I trust them.

Maybe there prices are slightly on the expensive side, but you do get a friendly service that is second to non.

The Clinic do indeed do them on the dyno. Another reason to get Andy to do it.

As for my licence it's still here and he's mapped for me twice so far!

I won't get into the whole debate about whether it's better to map on the road or on the rollers, but I think the insinuation that road mapping might endanger your license needs addressing.

With a responsible and experienced mapper, there are NO hair-raising antics or speeds involved; it's a very calm, controlled process conducted on a road with a 70mph limit and with the safety of the vehicle occupants and other road users paramount at all times.

To give you an idea about the nature of the experience of road mapping: on the two occassions I've had my car mapped on the road, my GF sat in the back reading a book both times, with no complaint!!

By far the most important consideration when getting your car mapped is your choice in mapper. I've not personally used Andy Forrest's services, but I'm very aware of his reputation and I very much doubt you'll find a finer Subaru mapper. In fact, many on here would argue that it's a choice between him and the mapper I use for the title of "best Scooby mapper" Any guesses as to who that might be?

Here's a hint: he also maps on the road!!

BTW The above is not to detract in any way from SC's services, but the idea that road mapping is scary or involves sustained runs in licence losing territory is a misconception.

NS04 has his car maped by the same bloke i do - Bob Rawle of BR Developments based in Swindon.

As he says, it's a load of rubbish about the licence loosing. Bob (as i am sure Andy does as well) does not put anyone under any pressure to do anything they don't want to do. I know that Bob in all his years of mapping has had no trouble with the police, the roads he maps on he knows well and you will also do a recon run. I was concerned the first time but there really is no worry. I have ben on 3 or 4 occasions since.

As regards to Scoobyclinics quality of work, i have worked on a few cars they have had a hand in and the prices they charge reflect the quality. Not saying they don't do the job, but it's definetly a bit scruffy in places. You will get a better (but more expensive) job at many other places.

I can't comment on their mapping as i have no experience.

Hi Mate,

As P1 Mark has correctly stated (thanks mark) my car was mapped by Bob Rawle who works from his base in Swindon.

Can't recommend Bob highly enough; his work is 1st class - he clearly enjoys what he does and wants you to leave happy with the car.

Thedevilandhiscar,
you are begining to annoy me! what is your problem, if as you claim we buggered up your engine build then why didnt you contact us directly instead of jumping all over your key board, any one who knows Scoobyclinic knows that if you had a problem with a job we have done then we would bend over backwards to sort it.
You appear all over any thread with our name on just to use the oppertunity to slag us off, be very carefull as some of your posts are hinging on liable, trust me if there is much more I will throw it at our legal department.

Cheers

You have to take the good publicity with the bad I'm afraid.

Whilst there are many who will speak highly of you there are many that won't (myself included). Each to their own!

My tuppence:

Andy F has mapped my car on the road so from experience I can second the positive comments regarding the procedure. It's very calm, considered and almost verging on sedate. You build yourself up, waiting for the 'map day' thinking it's going to be exciting etc, but you end up just pottering through the gears, and when he's done you've got a damm good result that, all things being equal, like your mods, will last. I'm 18 months of frequently spirited driving down the road at 350bhp without incident. Speaks for itself really.

As for Scoobyclinic, from the numerous comments I've seen about them on here in the last 3 years, I'd be more than happy to take my car there should the need arise.
