Default Japanese Intermarque Sprint Championship 2007

Hi all

We are running a MSA sanctioned Jap Sprint Series this year with six dates predominantly in the Midlands and South East (North Weald, Debden, Bentwaters, Silverstone and the like).

Sprinting is an excellent and inexpensive entry into competitive motorsport, is a more rounded discipline than drag racing as you have to negotiate corners and allows you to find the boundaries of your car in relative safety.

There are 3 classes: Standard (induction and filter), Road (road tyres, MoT, tax) and Max (slicks, aero, carbon, etc).

You will need an MSA non race national B licence, £34, membership of the organising club, Harrow Car Club, (£15), fireproof overalls (proban ones are cheapest, nomex are better at stopping burning but are cheaper), a helmet (can borrow one off a biker friend if you don't own one) and a timing strut for the car (generally homemade).

Events generally cost in the region of £60 and include 2 practice and 4 timed runs, best to count.

In a shakedown sprint a few weeks ago the inclement weather resulted in the top 5 places being taken by evos and scoobies as the wings and slicks single seaters didn't go to well in the conditions.

If you have a definite interest, I would advise applying for the MSA licence ASAP as they take 15 working days to turn around.

For further details, please visit Japanese Intermarque Sprint Challenge. Any queries to andy@clubracer.co.uk.

Hoping to see some of you at an event.

Cheers

Andy

Here's some piccies of some of the Japanese cars that were competing (I know one of them is German, but I like it and he is my cross-grouped target this year)

And well done to Ben (No 1) who won his class by a good margin on his first ever event.
