Hey guys am thinking of getting some stainless steel headers and up pipe for MY00 uk classic turbo. i have heard stories of them cracking and also not having a flexi up pipe is worse? could people who have bought some please advice me on which ones to get and also what type of up pipe is good. Also recommend where to get them from. cheers. Your help much appreciated. Was thinking of these from flat4online? Don't bother mate, unless you are running around 340 brake. Get your standard ones ported and wrapped and get a good uppipe as well.

i think the headers were the best mod i did , it transformed the car and the power was so much smoother . if your getting headers make sure they have a seperate up pipe with a 3 bolt fixing .

gtspec headers or gruppe s . dont think you willl find cheaper that flat four for gt- spec

I had my standard headers ported by Harvey Smith and the option 2 up-pipe as well. The turbo spools a good 300 rpm earlier and more torque across the whole rev range. I was told ported standard headers are good for about 360 - 370 bhp.

Drop him an e-mail: harveysmith1@btopenworld.com

Agree with everyone above.

Ported for mid range torque (smaller inside pipe diametes compared to tube headers) and about 350 bhp
Tube for 350+ and if you want to bias to top end power.

I have done both.

I now have Grouppe S pipes with a Helix uppipe with flex centre all wrapped.

Perfect for 3 years @ 1.6 bar and 380 x 370 output with supporting mods.

They are supplied from America so exchange rate rather good at the moment.

I think they are all made in China now?

I would say the very best ones are now from Roger Clark Motorsport (3 bolt flanges)
Most are now investment cast stainless steel ends with seamless tubes so cracking should be a memory.

Some ebay ones have cracked from what I've read so beware of cheap units.

For a gentle engine I would fit Harvey ported ones.
API Engines do them too.
