im in need of an engine rebuild due to bottom end failure

just wondered if theres anything i can have done while the engine is been redone to improve on power, i dont know a great deal about engines and someone has suggested putting a 2.5 block in? The car is going to be remapped as soon as the rebuilt engine is run in so i want to make the most of the remap. Any suggestions guys?

MY00 UK Turbo 2000, car is/was mainly used on weekends, basically i want to know my options and costs for differnet gains in power, im going to have the car remapped after ive run the engine in.
