can i tell what model/year my gearbox is in my car by code or something?

Transmission code is on the VIN plate which you will find on the passenger side suspension turret. It will begin with TY752. It is also on the gearbox - on a label stuck to the bellhousing by the starter motor. Then this chart will tell you all about it.

thanks dave, my car was an auto and now has a manual 5 sp gearbox, i need to know what type it is, or how old, all i know is that it does 80mph in 5th at about 3k rpm, is there any way of telling what this gearbox is?
