Thinking of getting a 6 speed STI box fitted into a MY03WRX due to failure on my 5 speed.

Does anyone know the speed ratings of the gears, i.e, how fast will I be going at the top end of second and third gear, plus what is the top speed of the box?

Also, is this box heavier than my broken 5?

 

Don't know the speed ratings but the 6 speed is heavier than the 5 by about 30 - 40kgs i think

 

I reckon 4/5/6 on the six speed is close to 3/4/5 on the 5 speed. First is about the same but 2/3 6 speed bridges the gap only covered by 2nd on the 5 speed. Hope this makes sense. Good for low speed acceleration if you don't mind changing gear a lot. Also you'll need 2 gear changes to get to 60 unless you rev the nuts off it.
