Default front diff and ppg

does this diff ( i have never drove an sti ) make that much difference and if so what diff would be reccomended to run 450+ bhp

David at API is the best to answer, but he installed a lightly plated LSD in the front of my Type R V6 trans (which was open as stock), but I only muster a weedy 380 x 370 at the moment.
The secret is to have it light in the front.

I think it was an Sti plated diff API installed to match the Sti plated rear.

Maybe this helps

Rich, Plated LSD in the front has to be loosely set up as the torque steer will be a killer. You need the diff to work rather than be a 'locker ' like most rears.

If you put in a locker on the front then the understeer will be huge and the only way to corner it, will be in a slide. In the rain you'd hit the first roundabout you come to.

That is why they are called ' limited ' slips which applies power to the driven wheel rather than the unloaded wheel. Having both wheels at the front of the car travelling at the same speed is plain crazy, unless you commit totally in a slide. Difficult on the A38 at 08.30 in the morning in the rain........
