What would you pay for a 1996 STI?

This has probably been asked many times before but.....what is a 1996 WRX STI worth?
I have a mate who is selling one, has all the normal STI spec, plus dump valve, Scorpion exhaust, lower front lip spoiler, everything colour coded, Clifford 600 alarm & has a CD player etc.
It is in very good condition done 54,000 miles and I know it has had oil changes/service every 3,000.
He is asking for £11,400, if I could get it for 11K would it be a good buy?

IMHO NO
£11k buys you a UK my99 or an 98 STI. There have been a couple of low mileage STI3s for under £10k recently. I think the car wants to be about £9k. Is it an STI2 or a 3? The 3 is the facelift model and would be worth around £10k on a good day... The 2 is pre facelift and £8.5-£9k is reasonable.
