We have got a BT home hub and our normal phone not the bt home hub one there is a noise in the background when you are either making a call or receiving one. When you disconect the hub anbd just have the phone connected, the noise is gone. Does anybody eleses do this or is there a cure?

I have phoned BT and the guy, who I might ad I could hardly understand keep putting me on hold to read or do something. We orignally had the Hub upstairs connected into another wall socket, he said to bring the hub down stairs and re connect it to the main bt socket. I have done this and there is still the noise there.

and an odd one, when we had the hub in the next room to this PC the connection was 'very good', now that I have moved it down stairs it is, you'll never guess - Excellant. Howd that happen?

 

Stupid question, but do you use an adsl filter on your normal phone?

Not having one sounds like the issues you have.

 

Yeah, the BT ADSL filter is fitted.
