strange boost problem {stock}
Hi
my wrx 05 is completely stock except catback. I am usually boosting at 0.9 - 1,1 bar depends on gear.
It happend twice in 2 months. After I started car (normal conditions) let it warm and I step on it while overtaking, it wont go over 0.5 bar no matter what gear {just continual 0.5 bar to redline}. No CEL no sounds no smoke. After I turned off ignition and strarted over it was completely fine again with usual numbers for all gears. Could it be some ECU problem? Or maybe it got into some safety mode or something {but why}?
Any ideas what could cause it?
thx

AFAIK there is still the "drive by" feature on the newage ECU, it might be that. ?
It's all to do with driving the car at a constant speed and then accellerating for some euro / noise / emissions test. The ECU cuts boost !!
I'd still get the ECU checked for historic codes though

still under warranty luckily
Getting the Newage ECU to cut boost for the drive by feature to cut in requires quite a specific set of circumstances. I'd still go and have the car checked out !!
Some sensor errors give a flashing CEL which you might not notice but will be recorded !
Between you and me I'd try and mail Bob Rawle at BR Developments and ask politely if he thinks it's a problem with the "drive by" feature of the ECU.......
