I have had the engine check light up on my1995 wrx a few times and when i did a check the code related to the heat sensor. I ahve asked a few people and have received a few diferent answers as to where it is located.
Can anyone help as to its location ?

do you mean the temp coolant sensor?
I think that it is in the cross pipe under the manifold but im sure someone will read this soon who knows exactly where it is

 

i think so, when i looked the code up on the web site it say's heat sensor ! nothing else.

The code is eleven, and i just use the fault finder on the car and look the code up on some web site but i can't remember what it is called. If you ask on here someone will be able to tell you the name of the site and it tells you everything you need to no.

 

eleven is Crank Position sensor.

Do a reset of the ecu and see if it re-occurs.

sorry mate i wroe the wrong number down as i have already done the crank sensor. I have have reset the ecu anumber of times and it keeps popping back up also it keeps making the enine cooling fans kick in, Is this the heat sensor ? if so where is it ???

Ahah.. you mean the Coolant Temp sensor.. it is in the ally cross pipe on top of the engine under the inlet manifold.. pain to get to..

you need to change the one with the square multi plug, not the one next to it with a single spade connector which is for the coolant temp gauge on the dash.

it is in the rear of the ally pipe on this picture, not very clear but best I could find.. it is the reddy brown blob.. lol

no from memory it is a screw thread on the sensor and screws in to the pipe.

Mine is playing up too, checked Subaru today, £25 + Vat, not to bad and less risk than second hand one.
