wagon roof bar removal

Default wagon roof bar removal

I've just seen a photo of a classic wagon with no roof bars on . Can they be unbolted without leaving gaps in the roof rails or is it more complicated ?

Knowing my luck it'll be complicated

it is complicated I believe..

On the earlier cars it was an option I believe.. thankfully mine has none.
