Default Z4 ECU compatible or not?

I have a 97R UK turbo wagon and I have been looking around to find out if I can simply plug one of these in for a bit more power, bit it seems confusing. Any help??

I'm afraid the simple answer is: no.

The ECU pinout and design changed in the pre- and post- facelift models so it wouldn't be a straight plug in, and trying to make it fit would be a nightmare!

Even if you did make it fit, it wouldn't suit your car as you have the wrong turbo (post facelift UK models sport a TD04, the Z4 was designed for a TD05), plus many of the electrical interfaces/sensor specs probably changed...

I think the answer would need to be don't even go there...
