Question Have I received a duff set of bonnet dampers ?

Hiya,

Hopefully someone can point out I've got this wrong, but received my carbon bonnet dampers from Scott Lowe this week and just tried to fit them.

Should I be able to compress these with my hands ?? It feels like they are locked solid and can't be compressed.

Any views on this appreciated. Should you be able to compress manually ?? Concerned about fitting them and trying to force the bonnet shut.

Thanks,

Scott

i doubt you should be able to compress them by hand, i could compress the ones on my bmw, just, and the bonned would not stay up, so i'd say they are ok, nice and strong.

I got a set through a GB from scott lowe, you should not be able to compress them by hand. Once fitted just be careful when you open the bonnet as after short distance the lifters will open the bonnet with out your help so keep your head out of the firing line. Mine have caught a couple of people by suprise.

You won't be able to compress them by hand.
I also found the instructions incorrect for a classic. The instructions seem to point to fitting them to the wrong bolt location on both the inner wing and the underside of the bonnet. This though is self evident when you line them up.

If you have an alloy bonnet don't be suprised if it flex's when you try to shut the bonnet from fully open.
