Question

Changed my full Scoobysport system to a Hiper from the downpipe back at the weekend, I just managed to get the bolts through from the d/p to the mid as they are too short
I remember when I had the system fitted at Scoobysport they had trouble getting the nuts onto the bolts as they were too short, they ended up leaving all washers off...infact when I undid the bolts to take off the mid they had virtually fallen off anyway.

Anyway, I just managed to get the nuts on and tightend, but still can't use washers still and the bolt isn't even fully onto the nut, about 3/4 of the way on. I don't want to leave it like this again though as they will obviously shake loose..

Can anyone help me out getting 2 longer bolts for this?

By the way the new system sounds the absolute nut5

Thanks

John

Hi John

If the original spring loaded bolts were used, these don't have any washers. They won't come undone, as the spring keeps tension on the nut.

If the centre section has a floating ring, you can use normal nuts and bolts to make this joint.

Pete,

I'll maybe give you a call before the weekend, but the spring loaded bolts wern't used..I had new bolts fitted. I'm not sure if you normally keep in stock longer bolts and had run out when I was there, but the ones I had fitted were so short that washers couldn't be fitted on. Having seen how loose they had become over less than 3k miles I'm keen to get some locking washers on asap!

Oh and the centre section hasn't got a floating flange thingy..

Thanks

John
