Angry When is a Quote for work not a Quote?

Ok guys...

I enquired about suspensions and engine mods to a WELL KNOWN retailer who is a regular to this site. Asked for a price all in. Was offered a "discount" as i was getting all done at same time. Very happy with price offered.

Fine me thinks.. get saving.

Now I email back to ask for the work to be carried out... only to be told i can't possibly have the work for that price (the guy i was dealing with is on holiday so someone else has got hold of my email) as "its not worth them doing it".

Do i

a) **** em and go elsewhere

b) Argue until im blue in face to get the price they quoted

c) Pay the new price

d) Name and Shame the numpties

B**stards!!!

What was the length of time between obtaining the quote and you asking for the work to be done? i.e. how long did it take you to save up the cash?

I'd wait until the other guy is back from holiday and speak to him to see if you can resolve it. If not, get quotes from elsewhere, it might be that their "new" charges are still cheaper than the competition.
