Default Low Mileage servicing

Just seeking some advice.

Have a MY97 Uk Turbo - FSSH and in the last 2 years I've owned it serviced on time interval rather than mileage. I have around 56k on the clock. Since the last service I've done less than 1500 miles.

So.....do I need to (minor) service the car this time? Is the oil going to be that bad on less than 1500 miles?

It is due for a MOT though (any recomendations in Sheff? I normally take it to Monty's and let them sort it)

Thanks

Yes.

Especially with short jorneys, which is more harmful than high miles. As the oil gets contaminated with unburnt fuel, condensation and acids which won't boil off as the oil never gets hot enough. Causing oil to lose its lubrication properties, fall out of its viscosity range (gets too thick cold, too thin warm), deposit sludge and foam, ultimately leading to shortened engine lifespan due to poor lubrication.
