fitting a turbo td04 to vf28
how simple is it to change the td04 to a vf28 on MY00? i like to do things myself but im only just learning really, it doesnt look to difficult if it is just a straight swap?
dead easy....
some tips :
1. WD40 the downpipe and Turbo mountings the night before.
2. Drain about 2 litre's of coolant out before starting, this stops you loosing it from the turbo coolant pipes and soaking the back of the engine and filling your heatshileds up with coolant (which will take ages to burn/evaporate when your finished).
3. Use washing up liquid to get the oil return hose back on and the air intake onto the front of the turbo.
4. Fit the VF28 Banjo bolt to the oil feed, as it has a much smaller oil feed hole suitable for the roller bearing turbo.
If your efficient it could take yu as little as 2 hours.
