Please read - Advice needed. MY02 WRX
Hi all..
I`ve had my MY02 WRX PPP for 4 years now and I`m having a lot of problems.
I have defiantly lost a lot of power....
After about 30,000 miles my car would hesitate while on full boost, then it would hesitate while under load i.e climbing a hill, now at 80,000 miles its doing it either just before the turbo kicks in and while in boost conditions, and also I have the problem when I`m on the overrun comming down a hill in 4th or 5th gear using engine as braking the car jumps a bit when the revs come down below 2,000RPM.
I should add that the hesitation is not major, just realy annoying.
If I accelerate from a standing start. i.e from a roundabout I get an initial misfire, then the car will pick up.
I had PPP installed before xmas last year, but again initialy the change was massive, now its back to what feels like standard, if not less...
I have installed: Magnex cat back system, PPP... Thats it.. No major mods.
So far I have recently replaced
In the last month or so)
1)Both front and back 02 sensors. This did make a differece, but now back to the same old ways..
2)MAF sensor.. As above, same inital change..
3)4 Plugs
4)4 new coils.
5)Prodrive fuel pump.
A strange thing happend the other day too.. While driving at 60 I was trying to get the car to hesitiate.. When it did, I blipped the throttle and the car ground to a halt. No ECU lights or nothing! Car just rolled to a stop engine stopped and usual lights came on.... I switched off the ignition and then restarted the car.. It started with no problems at all.. That was the first time it had ever done that.
I`m not getting any smoke out the exhaust either..
As I live in Shetland my local dealer does not know what to do, so I`m pretty stuck.. I use deltadash, but even that is not showing anything other than my car only ever getting a max of 1 Bar boost.
I noticed when I had the car in the garage, that when I turned on the ignition (Not start)the fuel pump kicked in as it does, there was a strange liquid flowing noise comming from underneath the air intake pipe as if there was liquid passing somthing at a high pressure until the pump cut out... Would this be a faulty injector????
One problem I have up here is that I do not have SUL only unleaded.. I use a bottle of millers octane plus on every fill..
The most annoying thing is that somtimes the car will go like a rocket, then it dies..
I`m realy pulling my hair out so any advice will be much appriciated.

Do you have any delta dash files that cover one of these hiccups?
Did you have problems before the PPP was fitted?
The gushing sound is just the fuel lines pressurising.

It did do it prior to PPP. What I can`t work out is why somtimes the car runs okay, then not. It seems to happen in a kinda fixed routine. Run fine for a couple of days then return to crap perfoamnce, then a couple of days later fairly normal.
I do have some DD files if you want them..

It "may" be worth while putting a post on the Ecutek forum but you'll be very lucky to get a reply.
