turbo kicking in at 4.5k?

hi,since buying my car ive noticed that the turbo is kicking in abit late 4.5k ive heard it should be kicking in at 2.5-3k? is this right? and is it an easy prob to fix? cheers

it should come in between 3/4k rpm

If it's an early WRX it could be a split up-pipe. Quite common and will effect spool up time
